Obituary for Hon. William J. Barrett

Honorable William J. Barrett, 52, of Manlius, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020. Born September 6, 1967 in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of Gerald & Gloria Barrett and Maggie & Jack Avery.

After earning his Juris Doctor degree from the Syracuse University College of Law, William spent 26 years practicing law. He was also the Manlius Village Justice for the last 11 years. He was a member of the NYS Magistrates Association, NYS Bar Association, and the Onondaga County Magistrates Association, of which he served as Vice President in 2017-2018.

William enjoyed strategic gaming in his free time and his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. He was the most loving son, father, husband, brother and friend.

Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Celeste (Bundy) Barrett; daughters, Anjelica (Sean) Edwards, Cassandra Barrett, Taylor Roberts; son, David Roberts III; parents, Gerald & Gloria Barrett of Interlaken, NY and Maggie & Jack Avery of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Kelli Reep, Jackie Finn, Kathleen Campbell, all of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Curtis Barrett of the Netherlands, and Steve Avery of Salt Lake City, Utah; and several other relatives, friends and colleagues whose lives he impacted greatly.

Due to the current health conditions, the service will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
