Obituary for Alyce M. McNamara
Alyce Marie McNamara, 93, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully at The Bishop on Sunday, May 24, 2020. She was born in Rochester, NY.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, John McNamara; her parents, Alphonse and Teresita Hanss; and her brother, Jack Hanss. She leaves to remember her fun antics her sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends and caregivers.
Alyce worked at Western Electric in Syracuse as an Administrative Secretary for thirty-one years. Upon retirement, she and John enjoyed traveling, golfing, and being with family and friends. She was an active golfer, loved to be with people and was always available to assist them in any way. She enjoyed sewing, serving and loved collecting angels. She was an active member in her Catholic community and was passionate about many of her volunteer opportunities.
Private entombment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville..
Contributions in her memory may be made to Francis House or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
