Marylou was our across-the-pond neighbor. When she first moved to Midlake Circle and saw us walking our black, Havanese puppy, Gibbs, she mentioned she was getting one also. "Charlie" and "Gibbs" were best of friends and loved to play together. The four of us took walks around Erie Village and the dogs would look for each other out on our back decks. Charlie and Gibbs even crossed a frozen pond in the winter to play together. Gibbs made it to shore, but Charlie, being a little bit heavier, crashed through the ice and started to sink. My husband, Steve, wearing boots and a down jacket, jumped into the frozen water and rescued Charlie from drowning.
Marylou was so great to talk to; I respected her as a "mother" figure. We could talk about anything. I thought of her during this winter and had wondered if she and Charlie spent their months on the island. I'm so glad she got to do that for one last time.
Marylou was so proud of her children and grandchildren with all their many accomplishments. One of the hardest things in life is to lose your Mom. My Mom, who was my best friend, died 26 years ago, and I still miss her very much. I used to call her on the phone every day. I will tuck Marylou in my prayers, and ask God to give you His peace.
With Sympathy and Love,
Mary Lu Ghezzi

Dear Stacey, Doug and families,
I was saddened to see this here and too late to pay my respects I fear. Your Mom was a gem she and your Dad were two very special people to me. I enjoyed working with ML at LPA I can still see here sitting at her card table/desk while hers was on order, it did not stop her from getting the job done. She adored your Dad Tucker (who made the best spinach pizza with no match to date) and she couldn't have been more proud of you 2 guys, she loved you to the moon and back, I imagine that only got stronger as you grew your families with spouses and grandbabies. It was my pleasure to have known such a lovely lady... I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that memories you hold dear help ease your sorrow in the days ahead... She will be missed. RIP Marylou.
Sincerely ~ Cheryl Hanley Koflan

Marylou and I got together for pizza quite often and were planning for one this memory. And she always made remarks when I bought more...and to plant in my gardens. That’s a really funny memory. My granddaughter scored a goal in soccer last Saturday and said it was for Marylou. She used to walk Charlie whenever she was at my house. Many good memories we have together.
