Obituary for Eva Marie Wolff-Hotsch

Eva Marie Wolff-Hotsch, 83, passed away, peacefully, on March 5th, 2019, in Leinfelden, Germany.  Eva was born on March 21, 1935 in Mannheim, Germany, to parents, Max Wolff and Gertrude Weber. The family moved to the United States in 1938 and settled in Syracuse, NY in 1939.  She attended Nottingham High School and graduated in 1953. She was a camp counselor and swimming instructor at Camp Chateaugay, in the Adirondacks, for several summers.  Eva had always wanted to be a singer and she attended the Juilliard School of Music, in New York. While studying at Juilliard, she received the Fulbright scholarship and for the academic year 1958/59, and studied at the Musikhochschul in Stuttgart, Germany.  In 1962, she married the composer, Jaime Padros and they had three children, Alicia, Eduardo and Elisenda.  Eva and Jaime divorced amicably years later and then she married Heiner Hotsch. They were happily married for 30 years until Heiner‘s death in 2016.  Eva lived an incredible life, singing on the opera stage, traveling, reading and most of all, spending time with her children, whom she adored. In addition to her three children, Eva is survived by her brother, Steffen Wolff, residing in Cazenovia, NY, a niece, Johanna Wolff Jalbert and nephew, David Wolff.
