Obituary for Harold W. Yerton

Harold W. Yerton, 92, of Manlius went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2019 at a local nursing facility. He was born in Oswego Bitter (Camillus), the son of the late Amos and Laura Yerton and brother to the late Raymond Yerton and Ruth (Yerton) MacLachlan. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 33 years, Doris H. Yerton, who died on January 19, 1981.

Harold worked for the Town of Pompey Highway Dept. and was formerly employed by Highfield Estates in Fayetteville.

He attended Elbridge High School. He loved his horses, cats, feeding the birds and everything about nature. He enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing. He was very talented working with wood, plumbing, electricity and machinery.

He is survived by his children, Lynn (Yerton) and Phil Stumpf of Richmond VA, and David and Kimberlee (Howard) Yerton of Fulton NY; and grandchildren, Kelly (Yerton) Davis, Ginger (Yerton) and Tom Cole and Nicolette (Stumpf) Bateson; and great-grandchildren Timothy and Margaret Cole and Wesley and Ethan Davis.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm on Sunday July 14 followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 4pm at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8191 Cazenovia Rd. Manlius.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sunshine Horses (Horse Rescue) or Pompey Community Church.
