Obituary

Peter John Marshall, 53 of Fayetteville, passed away suddenly from an acute illness. He was born in Syracuse and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 1984. Peter loved his family and friends. His passions were listening to music, his snowmobile, driving his tractor on the farm, and watching reruns of his favorite tv shows. One of his proudest moments was being the final owner of a famous race horse, Stage Door Stevie.

He is survived by his loving parents, Dr. James Otis and Ruth Marshall; brother and sisters James “Otey” Marshall, Jr. (Kirsten) of Syracuse, Cynthia Vulcano (Sam) of Cazenovia, Jennifer Evans (Eric) of Niskayuna, and ten nieces and nephews; Sam and Emily Vulcano; Sarah, Jack and Owen Evans; Jim, Nick, Ben, Andy and Spencer Marshall.

DOC AND RUTH: I WAS SADDENED TO LEARN OF PETER'S PASSING. I HAVAE KNOWN PETER SINCE HIS HIGH SCHOOL DAYS AT FM. HE WOULD OFTEN STOP BY MY OFFICE JUST TO CHAT ABOUT SCHOOL AND LIFE. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE TO HAVE REMAINED IN CONTACT WITH
PETER OVER THE YEARS AND SEE HIM BECOME A FINE YOUNG MAN. HE WAS A KIND, REFLECTIVE, AND GENTLE PERSON WHO LOVED HIS FAMILY, ANIMALS, AND THE FARM.

Our deepest condolences to the Marshall family. Although I did not know Peter, I know his siblings and Mom. Jennifer babysat for us in Morrisville (the best, ever) and Otey was a good friend of my brothers. Ruth was one of my favorite patrons when I worked at WaldenBooks, way long ago. Love to the family and we deeply feel your loss.
Love,
Traci Vedder Schuster
