Obituary for Susan Beam Traeger
Susan M. (Wright) Beam Traeger, 75, of Fayetteville died peacefully with her family by her side. She graduated from Cazenovia High School, studied to be a legal secretary at CCBI and received her Paralegal from Broome County Community College. She retired in February from Sarofeen & Arbon LLC.
Susan was a member of Eastern Hills Bible Church and its Bible Study group. She was a member of the Binghamton Rotary Club and its first woman president; President of the Chenango Valley School Board, member of the Chenango Valley PTA, the Commons Homeowners Association and was one of the charter members of CAVAC.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Gerald Beam in 1990; and her brothers, Douglas and Roger Wright.
Susan is survived by her husband, John Traeger; her son, Stephen (Christina) Beam; her daughter, Jennifer (Erik) Chretien; her seven grandchildren, Kylie, Briggs, Braeden, Bryce, Colby, Tyler and Leah; her sisters, Patsy (Dan) Harrington and Bonnie Winfield, PhD; her brothers, Richard (Mary) Wright and George (Sharon) Wright; John’s daughters, Leslie VanGiesen, Stephanie Terry, Julie Julian and Valerie Wilcox; an aunt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Rd., Manlius. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at Eastern Hills Bible Church, 8277 Cazenovia Rd., Manlius. Burial will be at Chenango Valley Cemetery.
