Obituary for Thomas A. Zimich
Thomas A. Zimich of Newton, New Jersey passed to his eternal rest on November 29, 2018 at the Iroquois Nursing facility in Syracuse, NY. He was the loving husband of Rita (Konczynski) Zimich with whom he shared 69 years of marriage.
Born in Wilkes-Barre PA, he was the son of the late Timofei and Anna Zimich.
A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, family was the center of Tom’s life. He loved praying the rosary, was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Newton. He was the superintendent at the Newton Country Club for over 25 years, after which he was employed by the Newton School District. His beautiful garden and flower beds brought great joy to his life and the lives of others. He was an avid fan of the Yankees and Notre Dame football.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Trice Guella and husband Terry of Frankford DE, Cathy Hough and husband Bob, who provided such devoted care for Tom of Fayetteville NY, Aggie Worthington and husband John of Washington Crossing PA, and sons, Ed and wife Melissa of Brodheadsville PA, Phil and wife Janet of Cresco PA. He is also survived by his brother John Zimich and wife Irene of Plains, PA; sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Newton.
